Mark Hamill Thanks Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni for their Mandalorian Cameo
After The Rise of Skywalker, nobody expected Mark Hamill to repeat his role as Luke Skywalker again. Independently, The Mandalorian the end of season 2 brought Hamill back to Star Wars in a big way. Thanks to the magic of CGI, young Luke saved the day and took custody of Grogu. It also gave fans a rare chance to see Jedi Master Luke at his peak as he crossed Dark Troopers on his way to the bridge.
Hamill went to Twitter to share a message of gratitude to Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, two of the main creative forces behind the program (via SuperHeroHype).
Sometimes the greatest gifts are the most unexpected and something you never realized you wanted until you were given them.#ThankYouJonAndDave pic.twitter.com/4nNjSvbvIN

Hamill’s comments led #ThankYouJonandDave to the trend on Twitter. In addition, actor Diedrich Bader shared his own reaction to Luke’s return.
This was an AMAZING MOMENT !!
When you first appeared (obscured), my son grabbed my hand and said “is that it ???” and I whispered in delighted excitement “the greatest Jedi ever!”
My childhood for a brief moment came back
Really satisfying storytelling
