MCU fans were surprised by Mark Hamill’s similarity to Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes in this amazing new clip from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Marvel cinematic universe has produced many excellent characters. One of the most beloved is, without a doubt, Bucky Barnes.
Portrayed by Sebastian Stan, the Winter Soldier became a valuable part of the MCU, with his friendship with Captain America Steve Rogers and his involuntary evolution into a villain (and the redemption that ensued), all offering viewers some of the best materials from Marvel Studios.
A new video has already appeared online with Star Wars and Batman: the animated series star Mark Hamill as the Winter Soldier. The video uses DeepFake technology to digitally place Hamill’s face over Stan’s in the MCU footage, placing the CGI edition and the original footage side by side to compare the similarity of the two actors.

YouTube user Stryder HD knows the impressive DeepFake videos, having created incredible editions of Millie Bobby Brown in the role of Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia and Sebastian Stan in the role of Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise. Now, the video editor has switched roles from the last two actors. See Hamill as Bucky Barnes in the MCU below:
As mentioned above, Stryder HD has already replaced Hamill’s face with Stan’s in the Star Wars images. Both this edition and the one above highlight how right the fans are and that the actors look incredibly.
Both Hamill and Stan recognized their striking similarities, with the former referring to himself, jokingly, as the latter’s “father” – in a nod to the famous Star Wars franchise Darth Vader line.
Fans have long been calling Stan to play young Luke Skywalker in a future Star Wars prequel and it’s easy to see why. The pair is very similar.
Perhaps the Winter Soldier needs a father figure in a flashback at the MCU? Perhaps we see a more mature version of Bucky when the multiverse makes its presence felt? Or maybe Stan plays young Luke Skywalker, after all? Whatever happens, Hollywood must really recognize what these two stars look like.
Stan returns to the role of Bucky Barnes in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier when it debuts at Disney + on March 19.
