Marjorie Taylor Greene’s friend participated in the Capitol riot, contesting her Antifa claim behind the attack

Anthony Aguero, a conservative cameraman and documented ally of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, was present during the attack on the United States Capitol on January 6 and proudly attributed to Donald Trump’s supporters the start of the violent uprising.

Videos shared on Aguero’s Instagram and Facebook accounts on the day and after the uprising show crowds of ex-President Trump proponents singing outside the federal compound, while Aguero is heard talking and cheering in the background. Aguero appears to have recorded the first video before protesters invaded the Capitol, and the last after it happened.

A third video shared four days after the attack on Orbys, a social platform that calls itself uncensored, appeared to show protesters when they actually entered the Capitol. Although Aguero confirmed that he attended the riot as an “independent journalist” in comments to CNN, he said the videos shared on his social media pages were originally recorded by someone else. This is despite his off-camera dialogue and appearances in several clips.

It was not clear whether Aguero recorded the images still available to watch on Orbys, although he did tell followers that “he was able to do this inside the cameras” in a live video from Facebook on January 6.

“I have footage that I will provide for you as we enter there,” he said. In an additional message posted in the comments section of the video, Aguero wrote: “# SaveAmerica2021 !! #NoBLM #NoAntifa.”

Aguero discussed the insurrection in another video posted on Facebook on January 7, in which I saw him walking through Washington, DC. In it, he condemned Republican figures who denounced the attack on the Capitol and referred to the protesters as “patriots” trying to “defend their country.”

He also praised Greene, the widely criticized newcomer to Congress, elected to represent Georgia’s 14th district in the U.S. House last November. She was a vocal advocate for Trump and his policies during his campaign for Congress. Shortly after taking office earlier this year, Greene was stripped of her duties on the committee for publicizing dangerous and false conspiracy theories.

“I’m with people like Marjorie Taylor Greene, proudly,” said Aguero, before contradicting the congresswoman’s false claim that Antifa was behind the Capitol insurrection, rather than Trump supporters.

“Admit it, we were all there. It wasn’t Antifa and it wasn’t BLM. It was Trump fans who did it yesterday,” continued Aguero. “I am the first to admit, being myself. I would be a liar … I would be lying to you if I said it was Antifa. I would be lying to you if I told you it was BLM, that you were not Trumpers, that you were not were Republicans who were here. I would be lying to you. “

Greene and Aguero have collaborated in the past. In 2019, she used her Facebook account to post a live video after the platform temporarily banned her from accessing her own. The two appeared in photos at the “March for Trump” rally that took place in Washington after the general election, as well as at previous pro-Trump events. They also organized events that defended the initiative of the former president of the border wall. According to CNN, Greene described Aguero as “incredible” and a “friend” in videos that have already been deleted, while Aguero referred to the congresswoman as “one of [his] closest friends “on social media.

Newsweek contacted Aguero and Greene’s office for comment, but received no response in time for publication.
