Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler are finally together again. NBC launched the first promo, which provokes the long-awaited meeting, in Law and Order: SVUtwo-hour crossover event on April 1st.
The clip begins with a retrospective of the long relationship between Benson by Mariska Hargitay and Stabler by Chris Meloni, which ended later SVU12th season in 2011, when Stabler abruptly retired from the police force.
The clip advances to the present day at a crime scene where Stabler (Meloni) shouts “Liv!” A shocked Benson (Hargitay) quickly turns around, whispering “Elliot!”
The special 2-hour crossover event will air on Thursday, April 1 on NBC. Meloni will appear for the first time in SVU at 9 pm ET / PT. It will be followed by the premiere of Meloni’s spinoff series Law and Order: Organized Crime at 10 pm ET / PT on NBC.
