Mariah Carey reacts to the vaccine as you would think she could

Mariah Carey is hitting the high notes again – but not on stage.

The five-time Grammy winner filmed herself getting a COVD-19 vaccine over the weekend – and she screamed when the needle went in. (Watch the video below).

“Side effect of the vaccine: G6”, she joked on Instagram in reference to the designation of vocal range.

Carey revealed in advance that she was nervous and admitted that she was distracting the medical professionals who administered the injection.

She uttered a Yiddish “oy” before the needle pierced her skin. Then she screamed and clapped her hands in relief afterwards.

“Do it when you can,” she said. “We are in this together.”

The “Fantasy” performer said earlier this year that the blockade of the pandemic may have benefited her career to some extent.

“Getting off work really helped my voice,” she said in a podcast in January. “I think in a lot of ways, just being able to have, like, stress-free. And everyone is like, ‘Oh, you have to go back to the studio. Like, you have to, like, get back to singing. ‘And I’m like,’ I know ‘”.

More than 61 million Americans have been fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Carey has a chance ahead.
