Mariah Carey achieves a high score with her Covid vaccine

In a video posted on Instagram, Carey said she was “a little excited and nervous” to get her first photo. But she took a deep breath, rolled up her sleeve and released one of her famous high notes when the needle hit her arm.

“Vaccine side effect: G6,” wrote Carey in the caption.

Speaking to his 10 million followers, Carey made a nod to the state of the pandemic today compared to where he was a year ago. She referred to a video she posted with her children in March 2020, encouraging people to wash their hands properly as the pandemic was just beginning. “We are still in this battle together,” said Carey before receiving his chance.
Carey is one of several celebrities who call on people to get vaccinated when they can. Dolly Parton also brought her singing talent when she was shot, singing a vaccine-inspired version of “Jolene”.

Although Carey did not say whether she was getting the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, she said this injection was only part one, so stay tuned for the sequence in three or four weeks.
