Margaret Qualley spoke for the first time after allegations of abuse against her ex-boyfriend, Shia LaBeouf. LaBeouf was accused of physical and sexual abuse by ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs in a lawsuit and in New York Times article last December. Twigs opened up even more about the relationship in a cover story for ELLE this month, saying to the magazine: “It is a miracle that I came out alive”. Qualley shared Twigs’s ELLE Today’s cover on Instagram with the caption: “Thanks.” Qualley and LaBeouf were first seen together last December and reportedly parted ways in January 2021. The pair met after starring in the video for Qualley’s sister Rainsford for “Love Me Like You Hate Me” last year.

In response to the Twigs lawsuit, LaBeouf denied the charges against him, but told New York Times that he has been “abusive to himself and to everyone around him”. Twigs recently told Gayle King that LaBeouf’s response “reminds me a little of the gas lighting I experienced when I was with him” She continued: “The kind of taking on part of the blame, but not all, and then denying it.”
