Marc Wilmore, writer for The Simpsons and In Living Color and brother of comedian Larry Wilmore, dies at 57 after a battle with COVID-19

Comedy work is a little less funny today, while they mourn the passing of writer Marc Wilmore at 57.

Wilmore’s brother, The Nightly Show comedian and host Larry Wilmore, confirmed his brother’s death on Twitter on Sunday night.

The TV editor died in COVID-19, in addition to other health problems he had been suffering in recent years.

“My sweet and sweet brother, Marc Edward Wilmore, passed away last night while battling COVID and other conditions that plagued him for many years,” said Larry of his brother.

– My brother was the most kind, kind and funny angel I have ever met. I love you, little brother, ”concluded Larry.

Marc and Larry were two of five brothers, who grew up in San Bernadino County, California, in the 1960s.

Marc graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, before starting his TV writing career in the 1990s.

He began his writing career in the TV adaptation of Harry and the Henderson before moving on to Fox’s influential comedy series, In Living Color.

After his stint in In Living Color, he became a writer on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and then on the PCs before joining the Simpsons writing team in 2002.

He wrote 12 episodes of Fox’s long animated comedy series between 2002 and 2015.

Wilmore won the Primetime Emmy Award for Best Animation Program for his work as a producer on Eternal Moonshine of the Simpsons Mind.

After his time at the Simpsons came to an end, he went to work as a writer and producer on F is for Family in 2017.

Wilmore was honored by writer Michael Price, with whom he has worked on three different TV shows throughout his career.

“Another giant talent acquired too soon,” Price began in his tribute tweet to his fellow scribe.

‘I had the privilege of working alongside Marc Wilmore on 3 shows (PJs, Simpsons, FIFF) for most of the past 23 years and he was the funniest person in all the rooms. And a wonderful man. He is irreplaceable. Rest in peace, my friend, ‘he concluded.
