“My brother was the kindest, kindest and funniest angel I’ve ever met,” Larry tweeted about Marc, who was also a writer for ‘In Living Color’ and ‘The Simpsons’.
Marc Wilmore, a TV writer whose credits include F is for family and The Simpsons, died on Saturday “while battling COVID and other conditions that plagued him for many years,” revealed his brother, comedian Larry Wilmore, on Twitter. He was 57 years old.
Calling Marc “my sweet and sweet brother,” Larry tweeted, “My brother was the kindest, kindest, and most funny angel I’ve ever met. I love you, little brother.”

Born on May 4, 1963, Marc graduated from Cal Poly Pomona before joining In loving colors as a writer in the early 1990s. He also became a cast member of the sketch comedy series in his final season (1993-94), imitating James Earl Jones, Maya Angelou and Robert Guillaume; he also personified several stars in segments wondering what they would look like as a black person, including Carroll O’Connor in Everyone in the family, Ted Knight at The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Andy Rooney in 60 minutes and Bob Hope.
He was also a writer in The PCs (expressing the role of Walter), a writer The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and an executive writer and co-producer in The Simpsons.
In addition to acting as a screenwriter on F Is for Family, he also served as an executive producer and appeared in several episodes.
