Maquette, Annapurna’s recursive puzzle adventure, gets release date in March • Eurogamer.net

Released on PS4, PS5 and Steam.

Maquette, the wonderful “recursive” first-person adventure puzzle from developer Graceful Decay, finally has a release date and will arrive on PlayStation and PC on March 2.

A model, in case you are wondering, is a small preliminary model created by a sculptor before embarking on a large-scale project. It is a suitable nickname for a game that features environments similar to models placed in large-scale versions of themselves – which, in turn, are within large-scale versions again – and where changes made to a model are reflected in everyone.

For example, throwing a cube on a patio model can (to use an example shown in the last trailer below) cause a larger version of that cube to materialize simultaneously in the patio around the model, perhaps providing a way to progress.

Annapurna Interactive – the publisher behind acclaimed Outer Wilds, What Remains of Edith Finch, I Am Dead and now that – describes Maquette in a much more succinct way as “a unique puzzle game about exploring relationships in a recursive world “.

Their space puzzles intertwine with a “love, loss and acceptance” story centered on Kenzie and Michael, a fictional couple who look back on their relationship, played by Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World, Black Mirror) and Seth Gabel (Fringe , Nip / Tuck) respectively.

Maquette will cost $ 19.99 USD (about £ 15) when it comes to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Steam early next month, on March 2nd.
