Acting Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Ken Cuccinelli said on Thursday that he believes “many” of the mafia members who invaded the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday will be brought to justice.
“I think that many of [mob] go [be held accountable], yes, “he told the” Newsroom of America “.” There are limits to our ability to identify people, but as far as possible, I assume that people will be prosecuted; that finally reaches prosecutors. We at the Department of Homeland Security urge prosecutors across the country, state and federal, to accept each of these cases. Because until you do that, until we have a deal left and right, that violence will never be allowed, it will never be allowed, so it will continue. “
FBI SEEKS PUBLIC HELP TO IDENTIFY THOSE WHO ARE IN VIOLATION OF CAPITOL
Washington, DC, is staggering after protesters who supported President Trump’s groundless allegations of mass electoral fraud violated the Capitol, smashed windows and forced lawmakers to evacuate during the certification process for the election of President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College. A woman who was part of the mob was shot and killed by the police during the chaos, and the consequences for Trump were swift, with bipartisan convictions against him for fanning the mob in the Capitol and several high-level resignations in his administration.
He has since called for peace and promised an “orderly transition”, although he continued to insist that the election was stolen.
KEN CUCCINELLI: We have been dealing with such violence for six months, and seeing it here in the capital is even worse. It is not acceptable anywhere for anyone, and that was the message we were sending yesterday … We are building a fence around the Capitol today and tomorrow I hope it will be done. We will have a safe opening … America can be very confident that you will not see a repeat of this type of behavior.
…
It was annoying. From the point of view of public security, which is how we address it in DHS, this is something we never want to see, no matter who it is, and we will fully support the FBI and support them with all our efforts to bring people to justice who were involved .

America can be very confident that the inauguration will be very safe. The Secret Service has been planning this for months … You can expect all of yesterday’s lessons to be absorbed and implemented … I hope this will be a unique event. It was learned from. We prefer not to learn the hard way like that.
