Mandy Moore’s baby name has a very sweet meaning

Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith just welcomed their first child, August Harrison Goldsmith, and when they were thinking about baby names, they didn’t just look at a list for inspiration.

They put a lot of care and consideration into the name of baby Gus, as Mandy shared on Instagram, where she explained the meaning behind him.

And it’s so cute: “It was last August when @taylordawesgoldsmith and I found out we were going to have a baby (it’s also Taylor’s month of birth) and we always loved the name,” said Mandy. “So this was resolved at the very beginning of our book.”

But the first and last letters of the name of August also have a special meaning for musical artists. “On our birthday in November, T presented me with this blanket with the ‘A’ (for Amanda) made with the extra material from my wedding dress and ‘T’ (for Taylor) from her wedding shirt,” she explained.

“[It] it seemed like a very suitable amalgamation of our entire history, “wrote Mandy, adding,” I can’t wait to pass this on to our sweet August one day. 💙💙💙💙 “

Just yesterday, Mandy announced August’s arrival with a very cute first look at him. “He was punctual and arrived on time, to the delight of his parents,” she wrote on Instagram. “We were prepared to fall in love in every way, but it goes beyond anything we could have imagined.”
