The matriarch “This Is Us” revealed on February 23 that she and her husband Taylor Goldsmith welcomed their first child.
Just like all the characters on your successful NBC show “These are U.S” were dealing with their new babies, Mandy Moore was announcing via Instagram that she had given birth to her first child, a son with husband Taylor Goldsmith.
They also revealed that the very punctual baby – who arrived exactly on schedule – was named August Harrison Goldsmith.

“We were prepared to fall in love in every way, but it goes beyond anything we could have imagined,” she wrote, accompanying a sweet photo of her new bundle of joy.

On Wednesday, she shared another bundle of joy she received in the form of a very sweet blanket made to measure with her son’s name on it. Moore actually received the blanket in November, but says the couple knew they would be going through August very early.
It is not just a random choice, as it has several significant meanings for the couple. “It was last August, when [Taylor] and I found out we were going to have a baby boy (it’s also Taylor’s month of birth) and we’ve always loved that name, ”she shared.
In a bit of kismet, the name also presents an unexpected homage to both of Gus’ parents, which Taylor incorporated into the design of his blanket. In the image, the “A” and “T” at the ends of the August name are large and a different color than the rest of the name.

But they also have a special meaning for new parents, with Moore sharing that the first letter was “made with extra material from my wedding dress”, while the last was “from her wedding shirt”.
“It seemed like a very suitable amalgamation of our entire history,” she said of the precious gift. “I can’t wait to pass this on to our sweet August someday.”
In the image to the side, it seems that August is enjoying a preview of the same blanket that will one day be his – we see that little hand! – a physical reminder of your parents’ love and union.
It is like a scrapbook that symbolizes everything it took for him to enter this world, but in a more practical and usable format.

Moore’s ex, Wilmer Valderrama, was among his famous friends and supporters who shared his congratulations to the new mother.
“Yes !!! What an incredible gift, you two incredible souls will be inspiring parents,” he wrote. “Enjoy every breath in this new chapter! This young man is destined to enlighten the world.”
The couple also received congratulations from celebrities from Jenna Fischer, Ashley Benson, Mario Lopez, Michelle Monaghan, Rachel Bilson, Busy Philipps, Minka Kelly and many more. Even Moore’s program entered the conversation, writing, “Congratulations, mom!”
Moore’s on-screen daughter, Chrissy Metz, shared her support as well, commenting, “Oh my God! Welcome, Gus!” Susan Kelechi Watson, who plays Moore’s daughter-in-law, wrote: “There he is !!!”
“This Is Us” is back on hiatus, returning with new episodes in March. But while Moore gave birth to her baby in the real world, more attentive fans can still watch while directors and producers continue to try to hide their pregnancy on the show.
