Manchester United fans are thrilled that Mason Greenwood can act as a striker after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made five changes to his team to face Chelsea.
David de Gea, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford returned to the starting XI. The biggest omission is in the attack, with Anthony Martial hired as a reserve, despite Edinson Cavani’s absence due to injury.
Daniel James is rewarded for his good form with another starting spot, leaving Greenwood and Rashford as the most natural options in between.
United fans are hopeful of seeing Greenwood lead the line, although Rashford has more experience playing as number nine.
Solskjaer will be delighted to welcome McTominay back in midfield after he was injured in United’s 4-0 victory over Sociedad 10 days ago.
Although Chelsea have been unbeaten since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival in late January, Solskjaer has already surpassed his German counterpart this season.
United started their European campaign in the best way in Group H when they defeated Paris Saint-Germain away from home in the first round of the Champions League.
Solskjaer’s team has remained undefeated away from home for more than a year in the Premier League and hopes for another positive result at Stamford Bridge.
