Manchester Memorial, Rockville General Cancel all nominations for COVID vaccines Effective February 4 – NBC Connecticut

Manchester Memorial Hospital and Rockville General Hospital are canceling all COVID-19 vaccination appointments that were scheduled at VAMS as of February 4, 2021, due to a shortage of supplies.

According to the Eastern Connecticut Health Network announcement, this is a temporary break in its clinical vaccine operations.

Those who received the first dose of the vaccine at any location and had a second pre-scheduled appointment, must still arrive for that appointment.

Those who have scheduled an appointment through VAMS for or after February 4, 2021, may attempt to reschedule at an alternate location via the website.

ECHN said that those who need a second dose of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna can be scheduled up to six weeks after the first dose, without restarting the series.

Other health systems, including UConn Health and Waterbury Hospital, also had to cancel appointments due to a lack of vaccines.

“We apologize to those affected by this cancellation and we want to assure them that we are making every effort to receive additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in a timely manner. Understand that this is a temporary delay and we ask you for your patience with the process because the demand for receiving the vaccine is high “, says a statement from the health system.
