Man with 5 guns and bulletproof vest trapped inside Publix at Atlantic Station, police said – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA – Atlanta police say they arrested a man who brought several guns to the Publix warehouse at Atlantic Station on Wednesday afternoon.

They have already cleaned up the store and are investigating a suspicious package in the store.

Investigators say the man, identified as Rico Marley, 22, entered the store shortly after 1:30 pm holding a rifle. He then went to the bathroom. A witness told us he was in the bathroom and saw Marley with a rifle in the cabin behind him. He quickly alerted the store management, who called the police. When Marley came out of the bathroom, the police arrested him.

“During the investigation, the police recovered five of the man’s firearms and bulletproof vests,” the police said in an e-mail to Channel 2 Action News.

Investigators say he had two long weapons and three pistols. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Marley is accused of reckless conduct and is being transferred to Fulton County Prison.
