Man who hit Spencer Jones from Oklahoma in a bar fight speaks

The Oklahoma football player who almost lost an eye in a bar fight this month deserved it, according to the other side.

Walker Brown said he was “defending me” when he attacked Sooners’ wide receiver and place-kick, Spencer Jones, in the bathroom of the Logies on the Corner bar in Norman, Okla.

A 58-second video that went viral last week captured the moment when Brown, a school rookie and trained wrestler and mixed martial arts, landed several punches and put Jones in a choke.

Jones, a veteran in the red shirt, underwent a four-hour procedure to rebuild his left orbital cavity after the fight, according to The Athletic.

Police are investigating the incident, which occurred in the early hours of February 14.

No arrests were made.

The video starts with Jones telling Brown to “get the hell out of here”.

Brown was then pushed by someone next to Jones. Seconds later, Brown wiped the blood off his face and hit Jones.

“Something happened before the video started, because my nose doesn’t bleed for no reason,” wrote Brown on a GoFundMe page designed to help pay for his medical expenses.

Brown tore his biceps, according to the page, which raised $ 35,745.

Woodrow Glass, a lawyer who represents Jones, said his client was “trying to lessen the situation” and that the blood on Brown’s face was not caused by Jones.

Glass said Jones went to the bathroom to see his friend when he ended up in the middle of an argument.

The video also showed Brown’s brother Braden struggling with another man in the bathroom.

Braden Brown, who is also a student in Oklahoma, tweeted on Saturday that he and his brother “have been fighting since wearing diapers and MMA / Cage Fighting since they were 12 years old. Unfortunately, they didn’t give us options. We show moderation. “
