Man trying to steal AC units from library causes damage worth thousands of dollars

UPDATE: COLLECTED ARRIVAL IN HVAC DAMAGE FROM Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office filed a Malicious Personal Property Injury charge (over $ 2,000) against John Grover Frasier Jr., 42, after an attempt to remove air conditioning equipment from new Sampit branch of Georgetown County Public Library at 4187 Powell Road. The unsuccessful theft of the units left an estimated loss of $ 2,500. It was filmed in the building at 8:22 pm on February 2, 2021. The video was posted on the Facebook page of the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office. Thanks to all those who contributed to the solution of this case. The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in identifying the matter in the attached video, trying to steal HVAC equipment from a new branch of the Georgetown County Public Library in the Sampit community at 4187 Powell Road. The guy was unsuccessful in stealing the units, but damaged them by about $ 2,500 in the process. He was filmed in the building at 8:22 pm on February 2, 2021.
