Man strangles Burger King worker after discussing mask rules: report

Violence appeared out of nowhere on a New Jersey Burger King.

According to the police, a man entered the restaurant in Wayne and assaulted an employee. While the March 27 incident is still being investigated, the man started an argument with employees at the same Burger King earlier in the day about not wearing a mask.

Wayne Police Department officers arrested David Siversten after locating him near the Newark-Pompton Turnpike, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page. According to the police, when they approached Siversten, he said “You got me.”

Siversten reportedly entered the BK and started strangling a woman who worked at the restaurant. Fortunately, another worker intervened, at which point Siversten reportedly fled the scene.

Although the victim complained of pain after the attack, she apparently refused to be taken to the hospital.

Earlier that day, a suspect (also determined to have been Siversten) entered the same Burger King without a mask. According to the police, he argued with officials and officials were also called. The man fled the restaurant before the police arrived.

The officers who arrested Siversten described him as “agitated” and that he “appeared to be under the influence of alcohol”. He was charged with aggravated assault. According to Wayne police, Siversten was injured during the booking process when he failed to cooperate and “intentionally” hit his head on a steel bench.
