Aditya Singh, from California, had been hiding at the airport from October 19 – when he arrived from Los Angeles – until Saturday, when two airport officials confronted him, reported the Chicago Tribune, citing prosecutors.

Singh was found wearing an airport identification badge that was stolen on October 26, the report said.

Workers called the police, who arrested Singh, accusing him of criminal invasion of a restricted area of ​​an airport and theft, the newspaper reported.

At a hearing on Sunday, a prosecutor said Singh was “afraid to go home because of COVID, according to the report.

He also claimed to have found the badge, prosecutors said.

It was not clear why Singh flew to Chicago in the first place.

A judge set Singh’s bail at $ 1,000 and ordered him to stay outside O’Hare International Airport, the report said.
