Man arrested in random concrete block attack on Cuomo employee

Police officers arrested a man in connection with the random concrete block attack on Christmas Eve against a member of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s team in Midtown Manhattan, police sources told the Post Friday.

Christopher Guzman, 28, was charged with second-degree assault for allegedly attacking Lisa Cavanaugh, 51, sources said.

Cavanaugh had just left work at Cuomo’s Midtown office and was passing a construction site on Third Avenue near East 48th Street at about 2:15 pm when Guzman reportedly approached her and hit her on the back of the head with a concrete block, according to the NYPD.

Cavanaugh was temporarily unconscious and suffered a two-inch laceration on his head.

She underwent a CT scan at Bellevue Hospital, where she is expected to survive the attack, the sources said.

The terrible daytime attack took place just six blocks from the governor’s offices on Third Avenue.

Cavanaugh works as a recruiting and appointment officer on the executive board.
