MIRAMAR, Fla. – A man was arrested at a Dunkin ‘store in Miramar after a police chase that snaked through the streets of Miami-Dade and Broward counties, officials say.
Sky 10 overcame the chase and Local 10 cameras captured the huge police presence at Dunkin ‘at 2600 South University Drive in Miramar.
The chase, which police say involved a stolen black Infinity, originated about seven miles away, in northeast Miami-Dade County, and reached Broward. Infinity was sometimes on the opposite lanes of traffic in Miami Gardens, narrowly losing unsuspecting drivers to other cars on the road.
Miami-Dade police say detectives have noticed a vehicle that matches the description of one used in robberies in the NE 2nd Avenue and 158th Street area. The driver fled the police, officials say.

The four-door Infiniti was then spotted by cameras from Local 10 News circling a shopping center in Miramar before parking in a parking space and the driver carelessly. He then went into a Dunkin ‘restaurant.
A Dunkin employee told Local 10 News that the person the officers were looking for appeared to be in that store. We passed this information on to the police, and within minutes, armed Miramar police invaded the business.
“Miramar policemen determined that the person involved in the altercation [in Dunkin’] it was the same guy who ran away from the Miami-Dade Police Department detectives, ”Det. Khristopher Welch, of the Miami-Dade Police Department, said in an email.
He said police officers at the Miramar Police Department arrested the man.
His identity has not yet been released and the authorities have not announced any charges.
According to a Dunkin ’employee, the man bought a sandwich with a $ 100 bill and sat in the donut shop for almost two hours.

The official said the man was initially dressed in black and was wearing a hat, but then he used another employee’s cell phone and someone finally came in and brought new clothes.
The official said the man changed his clothes before trying to leave the business, but was arrested by the police.
“It’s a little scary, because we usually don’t have so much excitement around here,” said Florrie Lopez, who works nearby. “It looks like they were in a hurry to park because [the car] it’s on a curb and titled laterally. “
The car was searched and has since been towed. No injuries were reported as a result of the chase.
The Miami-Dade County Police Department continues the investigation.
