A spokesman for the Washington Metropolitan Police said the officers responded “at approximately 12:12 pm, to block 3400 on Massachusetts Avenue, NW, in reference to a suspicious person based on an intelligence bulletin from Texas, who was detained by the Service US Secret. “The police contacted the man after an intelligence report from the entire region was issued to the suspect.
DC police said police officers arrested and charged 31-year-old Paul Murray from San Antonio, and that a rifle and ammunition were recovered from his vehicle.
According to the police, he was charged with several charges: possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of a rifle or shotgun outside a company, possession of unregistered ammunition and possession of a large-capacity ammunition-feeding device.
The U.S. Secret Service told CNN in a statement that Uniform Division officials had detained the man before the Metropolitan Police arrived on the scene.
A Secret Service official said that none of the agency’s protégés was in residence at the time of the incident.
