Man arrested at Disney resort in Florida after refusing temperature check

A man who was arrested after refusing to take temperature tests at Disney Springs told authorities he could not be fired because he spent $ 15,000 on his vacation.

Kelly Sills, a tourist from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, ignored medical examinations at the Orlando attraction in February and refused to check her temperature when questioned by Disney officials, according to a police report from the Orange County Police Department.

Images of the body camera released recently showed Sills refusing to leave when questioned by the police.

“I spent $ 15,000 to come here,” said Sills after a deputy told him that he was officially considered an invader. Delegates and a Disney Springs security manager approached Sills outside the Boathouse restaurant, according to the police report.

Sills reportedly argued with the security manager, yelling at him, before the manager told him that he “was no longer welcome in the park today,” the report said.

A woman can be heard asking police officers not to arrest Sills on camera footage of the body.

“He’s not listening,” replied a man. “All he had to do was check the temperature. That’s it.”

Elsewhere in the video, Sills asked if authorities could measure his temperature before forcing him out. Someone replied that they would do it in prison, according to the NBC affiliate WFLA. Sills also claimed to be a Disney shareholder at another time.

Sills pleaded not guilty to charges of trespassing, according to court records. His lawyer, Michael Zmijewski, declined to comment on NBC News on Sunday.
