A man and five children died after a morning shooting in Muskogee, police said.
Police said reports of a shootout arrived around 1:30 am on Tuesday near Avenida Augusta and Rua Indiana.
According to the police, when the police arrived at the scene, they found a man and four children dead inside the house. A fifth child was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Tulsa, but police say the child also died. Police said there was also a woman with serious injuries who was taken to a Tulsa hospital. The police say the victims appear to be related.
Police say that when they arrived, they found a suspect with a gun and a police officer fired a bullet missing the suspect. After a short chase, police say, the suspect was taken into custody. Police have not yet released details about the suspect’s identity or his relationship with the victims.
