Malia Obama will join the writing team for the new Donald Glover program

Malia Obama is reportedly joining the writing team for a Donald Glover show in the middle of a big deal with Amazon.

Former President Barack Obama’s eldest daughter was recruited as part of the writer’s office for a potential Glover series called “Hive”, according to The Hollywood Reporter. There are rumors that the series revolves around a figure similar to Beyoncé and originates from writer Janine Nabers, ”said the vehicle. Nabers was previously a producer on HBO’s “Watchman” and writer for Netflix’s “Away”.

Glover ended his pact with Disney-owned FX “by a general eight-digit deal with Amazon,” said The Hollywood Reporter. The deal allegedly includes a content channel “that will highlight Glover’s work and other content curated on Amazon’s Prime Video hub”.

Variety also reported that Obama will enter the writers room for a Glover project about a “Beyoncé-like figure”, citing “sources”.

The 22-year-old Harvard student, who is due to finish her studies at Ivy League University this year, has worked on other TV shows. In 2015, she interned at HBO and even found herself on the set of the explosive series “Girls”.

Creator and star Lena Dunham would later tell Howard Stern that Obama is “an angel”.

“She loved the show, and I mean, obviously we weren’t, like, making her go get our coffee. You will not send [the president’s daughter to get coffee]. But she wanted to do all the work. That was the cool thing. She was totally excited, ”said Dunham in 2017.

She later shared that Obama is “very smart”.

“I once asked her, ‘What is your favorite movie?’ and she said, ‘Well, do you want me to list my favorite director, actor or cameraman?’ And I thought, ‘You’re smarter than me, let’s get this over with,’ said Dunham.
