Following previous leaks, practical photos of the OnePlus 9 Pro features an updated camera design that houses the main sensor, an ultra-wide angle alternative and two other snappers. One of them appears to be a telephoto camera that supports 3.3x optical zoom, although that strange number may be decreasing for initial software and the final product may use a 3x lens. The fourth camera is a little more mysterious – it can be a depth sensor, a macro camera or another color filter.

The camera’s layout is completed by an LED flash and what appears to be a laser autofocus system. Perhaps the most interesting detail regarding the camera module of the OnePlus 9 Pro 5G is the brand.

Nokia and Sony have partnered with ZEISS on their cameras in the past and Huawei has had an agreement with Leica for some time. It turns out that OnePlus is developing its next generation smartphone cameras with Hasselblad.

The partnership was confirmed by informants Max Jambor and Max Weinbach, who seem enthusiastic about it, but whether there is a significant increase in the output quality of the camera that puts the OnePlus on a par with Samsung and others remains to be seen.

OnePlus confirmed that it is investing heavily in mobile photography, but the ZEISS and Leica pacts of the past were somewhat lackluster.

Turning the prototype OnePlus 9 Pro 5G reveals a curved edge screen with the usual look – which are thin bezels, a thicker chin and a small hole in the upper left corner for the selfie camera.

According to the leaked photos, the included screen supports Quad-HD + resolution and works at 120 Hz as standard, but there is a basic 60 Hz refresh rate option for those looking to extend battery life as much as possible .

Speaking of battery life, previously leaked information confirmed that the next flagship of the OnePlus will support 45W wireless charging and 65W wired charging. Unfortunately, there is still no information about the capacity of the battery cell.

In terms of specifications, the prototype OnePlus 9 Pro unit carries 256 GB of internal storage along with 11 GB of RAM through the Settings application. This is probably due to the pre-release software, however, and the actual number may be 12 GB.

As for the chipset, OnePlus confirmed that it will soon launch at least one phone with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 on board and the OnePlus 9 Pro is almost certainly that device.

All of this is coupled with an updated framework that continues to house the important Alert Slider, but it looks thinner than normal. Like the OnePlus 9 Pro, the flagship of the 2021 is set to offer an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

The OnePlus 9 Pro premium is scheduled to be announced sometime next month. It will be accompanied by the standard OnePlus 9, which is also equipped with the Snapdragon 888, and the flagship OnePlus 9E, which must use the new Snapdragon 870.

Shipments are due to begin shortly after the opening event in Europe. In the United States, a similar launch schedule is expected, although the flagship should be available unlocked and on T-Mobile. Whether OnePlus and Verizon are extending their partnership is unclear.
