Apex Legends announced the next server maintenance where, instead of leaving the game completely offline for the entire duration, Apex will be temporarily reset to a state that is basically Season 0. During maintenance, players can lose access to your inventory, storage and cosmetic unlock, and only standard characters will be available.
While the Apex Legends cast grew to 16 characters over the course of eight seasons, the game initially launched its pre-season, or Season 0, with just eight characters – six of which were free to play and two required an unlock with Apex Coins or Legend Tokens. It is unclear whether the “standard” playable characters include the full cast of eight from the preseason or just the six Legends that do not need to be unlocked.
Maintenance will take place between 2:30 am (Pacific time) and end at 5:30 am (Pacific time) on February 25, giving players a chance to experience the game as it hasn’t happened since early 2019. Apex does not normally have this type of schedule maintenance, leading players to expect it to finally resolve some of the server issues that have been going on since the game’s release, but particularly serious recently.
Other players on a Reddit maintenance topic commented on the limited game that will be available during downtime, with some hoping that this could lead Apex to introduce a suitable LTM where only the original game characters can be played.
