Maine sees fewer new cases of coronavirus in months and no deaths

Another 156 cases of coronavirus have been reported across the state and no new deaths, Maine health officials said on Sunday.

The number of coronavirus cases diagnosed in the last 14 days across the state is 5,765. This is an estimate of the current number of active cases in the state, as the Maine CDC is no longer tracking recoveries for all patients. That fell from 5,949 on Saturday.

It was the smallest daily increase in coronavirus cases the state has seen since November 15, when 149 cases were reported. This is at a time when Maine has seen a steady decline in the size of the daily growth of confirmed virus transmission, a trend that has mirrored itself nationally.
