Main announcement and new match set for next week’s WWE NXT episode

WWE NXT general manager William Regal is expected to make a big announcement during next Wednesday’s show.

Tonight’s show saw Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler defend the WWE women’s doubles titles against Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez. The match ended in controversy when things fell apart and the top official on the list, Adam Pearce, brought RAW referee Shawn Bennett to the ring to count Baszler’s submission on Kai, which was not legal.

Regal and Pearce were shown arguing later in the show during a backstage segment.

McKenzie Mitchell then spoke to Regal to ask about the end of the match. Regal responded and said he has an announcement to make next week that will change the NXT scene forever.

Xia Li vs. Kayden Carter was also announced for next week’s NXT show. Carter called Li on tonight’s show for hurting his tag team partner Kacy Catanzaro a week ago.
