Magic: the Gathering Arena for iOS, Android coming soon, with cross game for PC

The full launch of Magic: The Gathering Arena will air on the Apple App Store and Google Play on Thursday, March 25. The digital adaptation of the original Magic: The Gathering cards game has been available on PC platforms since 2019, and came with early access for Android devices in January of this year.

Arena is a genuine version of the original card game and includes all the complexity and combinations that make the gameplay so deep and elaborate. The card sets in this digital version of the game accompany the release of physical card sets. This means that players can fill their decks with the same powerful tricks, traps and minions available in the table version. Players build their decks from card sets awarded to all players in the free game and complete them with reinforcement packages that are available for purchase in the app.

The mobile version of Arena it has touch controls, of course, but on the other hand it is the same as the PC and Mac versions of the game. Most importantly, it will feature cross-play with these other platforms. During the pandemic, Arena it has become an invaluable way to keep local player communities together and has become the official digital home for Friday Night Magic – a longstanding tradition where fans gather at local game stores for friendly games or more tournaments formal.
