For future reference, when the guy you’re dating says he wants to “become a single living God” with you, he’s not a lovely figure of speech. Get the hell out of there. But what if you inadvertently had a surveillance chip put in your brain by the same guy? Uh. Well, sorry, we honestly don’t know what to do next. In the first trailer for the new HBO Max drama series Made for love, The abject character of Cristin Milioti gets the rudest awakening possible when she wants to leave her husband (Billy Magnussen, who is then good at playing sticks) only to discover that he is watching everything unfold thanks to the mentioned chip. Her father (Ray Romano) is ready to help in whatever way he can, which, based on the trailer, means reciting Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love” as a spoken poem. The eight-episode series opens in April.
