Macomb County to open new COVID-19 vaccination site on Monday

WARREN, Mich. – Macomb County is stepping up its efforts to vaccinate more people against COVID-19.

A new clinic will open on Monday at the Southwest Health Center at Majestic Plaza, located on Van Dyke Avenue, just north of I-696 in Warren.

It is the fourth COVID vaccination site affiliated with the county in Macomb County.

Other locations in the county include the mass vaccination site at the Verkuilen Building in Clinton Township, the Richmond-Lenox EMS drive-through site and the Sterling Heights Senior Center site.

County officials said the new Majestic Plaza site was chosen to be as accessible as possible.

“That way, it becomes more convenient. The trip is shorter, it’s just around the corner, it’s a recognized building that is in the community, serving the community, “said Macomb County Health Department director Andrew Cox.” I think it just made sense for us to get something on the south side. ”

The clinic will not be open for visits and consultations must be made. You can get an appointment on the Macomb County website here.
