Apple is planning to launch a new 14-inch MacBook Pro this year, alongside a 16-inch MacBook Pro also. Both should feature a backlit Mini-LED screen alongside thinner bezels and will be launched in the second half of the year.
This report comes through DigiTimesand aligns with information previously provided by veteran Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. It definitely seems almost confirmed at this point that Apple will launch these two MacBook Pros later this year.
The screen size is not the only information Kuo has proven about the MacBook Pro 2021. These new MacBooks will also offer a brighter Mini-LED screen, M1 chips, a new design with a flat top and bottom edge, MagSafe loading and physical touch keys. function instead of a touch bar.
The 14-inch model would likely replace the current 13-inch MacBook Pro, although we hope that the new design, which will have finer bezels, means that it would be a slightly larger laptop.
Many of these details have been further corroborated by Bloomberg, so it looks like we’re building a pretty solid picture of what the latest MacBook Pro will look like.
However, the most exciting news is that Apple’s flagship laptop line 2021 will be much more generous when it comes to ports. In our Review of MacBook Pro (2020), we were disappointed that the premium device offered only a few Thunderbolt ports, so it’s great to see Apple fix this problem.
According to sources like Bloomburg and Kuo, this year’s MacBook Pros will restore the SD card reader and HDMI port to the range – at least a few dongles you can do without. You will still need one for any USB-A accessory.
In addition to a vague “second half of the year”, we don’t have a solid timetable for when Apple will officially announce the MacBook Pro 2021, but a July release date was announced earlier. However, this is the best scenario and it may not be until late summer or even fall that we will have an adequate view of the next MacBook Pro.
