M. Night Shyamalan’s new thriller, ‘Old’, gets the first scary trailer

M Night Shyamalan released a teaser trailer for his new movie Old, which sits on a beach that mysteriously ages people quickly.

Starring names like Gael García Bernal (And you too), Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread) and Rufus Sewell (The Man from the High Castle), the first footage shows a typically scary thriller.

Dropped during last night’s Super Bowl (February 7), the clip shows the characters settling in for a secluded beach holiday before things take a darker turn.

The synopsis describes him as “a mysterious and chilling new thriller about a family on a tropical holiday that discovers that the secluded beach where they are relaxing for a few hours is somehow causing them to age quickly … reducing their entire lives into one day” .

Shyamalan first revealed Old in September, sharing the title, as well as some artwork and a backstage photo as he tweeted: “It is a miracle to be here filming the first photo of my new film. Is called Old. “

The thriller will also star Ken Leung, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abbey Lee, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Embeth Davidtz, Eliza Scanlen, Emun Elliott, Kathleen Chalfant and Thomasin McKenzie.

Next to Old, the director was also an executive producer on the Apple TV + series Servant, that it will end after four seasons.

Opening up about his decision to end the show earlier than expected, he recently said Digital Spy: “When I started, I thought I was going to launch and I was going to supervise. But I was having so much fun that I thought, ‘Um … let me edit that. Let me speak to the composer. Let me do that. Let the effects come to me first. I will be in the mix. ‘

“I spent all this time on this. I think I feel more comfortable saying a four-year commitment than a six-year commitment to be involved. I can see the finish line. I can commit to this level. “

Shyamalan added that doing four seasons would allow him to “finish well”, adding: “I don’t want to feel that ‘he crossed the finish line limping while actually trying to do something else’ – it would be sad. “
