Lawless had strong words for his ex-colleague on Twitter, who suggested that the Capitol protesters could have been sent from the left.
Lucy Lawless had strong words for her former colleague, Kevin Sorbo, on Twitter earlier this week after the United States Capitol riots. Lawless, who co-starred alongside Sorbo in “Hercules” before getting his title role in the beloved series “Xena: Warrior Princess”, tweeted in response to Sorbo’s questioning about the composition of the protesters. In his tweet, Sorbo endorsed the view that the protesters were “leftist agitators” and said that “they don’t seem patriotic to me”.
Lawless said: “No, peanuts. They are not patriots. They are your flying monkeys, homemade terrorists, QAnon actors. They are the idiots who go out and do the evil orders of people like you, who like to roll them up like toys and let them do their worst. ”She added the hashtags“ #keepingYourFilthyHandsclean #enabler. ”
Although the actor has not yet responded to Lawless, he continued to tweet in support of the protesters and in rebuke of the recent news that Donald Trump has been permanently suspended on Twitter. The president was suspended two days after mobs invaded the Capitol. The crowd stormed the venue shortly after Trump organized a rally in protest for Biden’s victory. Sorbo openly supported the protests ahead of Wednesday’s events.
Lawless and his “Hercules” castmate Sorbo have disagreed in the past. In a 2001 interview identified by Newsweek, Sorbo questioned “Xena’s“ family values ”, saying:“ In that program, they had two problems that separated him from ‘Hercules’: one, he was heavily lesbian, as people know, and number two: it was strongly violent. It was much more violent than Hercules. “
He later said: “Xena took all of my directors, they took half of my writing team, they took everyone to work on that show. They took half of my crew! So, you know, it bothered some people, including me. But I just think of it as, why are you stabbing us in the back? We are the show that started! “
