Lucasfilm’s unequal treatment of racism leads to more resignations from Gina Carano of the Mandalorian.

Another day, another public relations nightmare for Disney’s Lucasfilm.

Racism is in the spotlight, again, months later John Boyega attacked the company for putting Finn aside in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and days after Darth Vader’s voice actor James Earl Jones was apparently scorned by the official Star Wars Twitter account on his 90th birthday.

Krystina Arielle was recently announced as the host of The High Republic Show on the official Star Wars channel on YouTube. Arielle, an actress who built her social media following the popular series of table games Critical role, enthusiastically accepted the show.

But right after its announcement, a conservative-trend pop culture news site Bounding Into Comics unearthed some furious tweets about “white people” that many fans found a little worrying.

Type right-wing personality Jack Posobiec, who retweeted the Bounding Into Comics article. The reaction led to the creation of a trend hashtag on Twitter … #IStandWithKrystina.

Many were quick to defend Arielle, including her Critical role friends…

While it is possible that Arielle’s tweets simply came from a place of frustration and out of context, many Star Wars fans (some of them blacks themselves) were calling her “racist” on social media.

The reaction led to the posting of the official Star Wars account on Twitter about racism and inclusion, saying they supported Arielle in an official position …

(It should be noted that the official Star Wars account has yet to recognize James Earl Jones’s 90th birthday, despite making several posts about Martin Luther King, Jr. the next day. But more on that later.)

And it was after that tweet that things started really strange and apparently off topic.

Twitter is using Krystina Arielle’s tweet to resign Gina Carano.

While some are using the Star Wars tweet to show support for Arielle (or criticize her), many (and I mean many) are taking this as an opportunity to once again resign from Gina Carano.

Carano, who plays Cara Dune in The Mandalorian, is an avowed conservative who has been criticized for what some believe to be controversial views, as well as for her reluctance to prostrate herself in the face of Twitter’s outrages.

There is a rumor that behind the scenes at Lucasfilm Gina Carano is the center of a “civil war” between Kathleen Kennedy / Lucasfilm Story Group / Alta República camp and Favreau / Filoni Mandalorian camp.

Twitter, being predominantly used by people who identify themselves as left or extreme left, does not like Carano or his opinions and many users are looking for reasons for her to be “canceled” from the program.

This is despite the fact that in real life, Carano and his co-star Pedro Pascal (who seems to be far left of himself) seem to get along very well.

But again, Twitter is not Real life. And things said on Twitter often have consequences in the real world, regardless of political affiliation. Ask Star Wars author Chuck Wendig about this.

And to be completely fair, many supporters of Krystina Arielle who know her personally claim that she is also more than her tweets.

Twitter, however, is the first impression of many people and also tends to present a distorted version of the person who tweeted. This is true for anyone on either side of the corridor.

James Earl Jones was apparently ‘scorned’ by the Star Wars Twitter account. He is also a Republican. Was that … intentional?

It is obvious to anyone who pays attention that many of those who work at Lucasfilm this year are incredibly political. This probably includes who is running the official Star Wars Twitter account.

A growing feeling among far-left activists working in the entertainment industry is that no voice should be given to Trump supporters, Republicans or even anyone with a touch of conservatism about them.

James Earl Jones is reportedly a registered Republican, according to many sources. Despite this, he publicly supports President Obama.

Jones, who is of mixed race, also spoke about his grandmother’s prejudice against whites.

I would go to school with white children and Indian children. I knew they were not the demons she said they were. I had to start thinking for myself, and I had to start to understand how right she was. But now I can live in the shoes of racists. When I hear about racists, I know exactly what they are feeling. I said, ‘I will allow myself to feel this, just because of it.’ So I know what they are going through.

Although James Earl Jones was a speaker at Martin Luther King Jr.’s daily events, is it possible that his views that non-whites may be racist against whites have put him on the “naughty list” by some of Lucasfilm?

The Tran maneuver?

The last Jedi caused a massive split in the Star Wars fandom that led to a decline in sales of Star Wars merchandise and a box office decline for later Star Wars films. This is verifiable.

What is more subjective is because many fans did not like the film. Most thought that Rian Johnson’s treatment of Luke Skywalker was a scam. Some said that the sudden introduction of new female characters, apparently just so that there were more female characters in the franchise, was disconcerting.

The two characters often mentioned as a point of contention are Laura Dern Admiral Holdo and Kelly Marie Tran Rose Tico.

The last Jedi defenders often suggest that they are just misogynists who didn’t like the addition of these characters, when it could be effectively argued that none of them brought anything of lasting value to the franchise (Holdo is quickly killed and Tico is put aside in the next film) while taking the screen time and the character development of the three new tracks introduced in The force awakens (including John Boyega’s Finn.)

For better or worse, Rose Tico became the poster girl for the failure of The last Jedi, as the toy shelves were crammed with his action figure for months after the film’s release.

It is very common to see toys from the Star Wars era on sale. Sometimes they accumulate dust on the shelves for many months. (Photo: Reddit)

This was mistaken for some likely legitimate online harassment against the actress Kelly Marie Tran.

But the media’s interpretation of this was that Tran was harassed on social media by white and furious Star Wars fans, when it seems more complicated than that.

The narrative with Krystina Arielle it may well end up being that “angry white boys” attacked a black presenter without any provocation, proving that Star Wars fans “suck” and a good part of them need to be publicly denounced by Lucasfilm.

In fact, some people are already calling Lucasfilm to publicly denounce the subsection of the antiThe last Jedi fans known as “The Fandom Menace”…

The situation can also be used to support The high republic initiative, which seems to be struggling to get many oldschool Star Wars fans on board.

Again, if the rumors are true, there is a game of chess being played by various factions at Lucasfilm now and the fandom (as well as Star Wars personalities like Krystina Arielle and Gina Carano) could be wore for “The Powers That Be” for whatever end goal they desire.

Keep that in mind when the media releases a flood of anti-Star Wars fan articles in the coming weeks, months and years.

You to know is coming. We’ve seen this before with The last Jedi, and they will use the same pieces again because it influenced the public opinion of Star Wars fans. For a while, at least.

Disney NEEDS to reign on Lucasfilm employees’ social media to SAVE Star Wars.

Gina Carano and Pedro Pascal on the set of THE MANDALORIAN.

Although I believe that individuals should be allowed to say what they want, as representatives of Lucasfilm and Disney, their obligation is to make the brand look good while they are employed there.

And now, he’s a free-for-all at Lucasfilm and also at Marvel Comics.

You don’t see the kinds of controversial tweets from Disney Proper employees because Disney keeps them in control.

But Lucasfilm and Marvel Comics employees and contractors are constantly making negative headlines for Disney.

Again, unnecessary dramas from poorly designed social media posts rarely happen to Disney and Pixar employees. They know better. During training, it was taught that you are a brand ambassador.

But the acquired IP? The “stepchildren?” Not much.

And if Disney wants to help keep the goodwill of the fans they won by bringing Luke Skywalker back The Mandalorian, they would do well to keep Lucasfilm employees under control, regardless of their personal opinions.

And they need to be impartial when dealing with controversial political issues, such as racism.

Choosing sides … one or the other … in this highly polarized political climate, you risk alienating 50% of your audience. This represents 50% of your customers. 50% of your revenue. And Disney cannot afford to lose a single penny now.
