LSU ends the National Signature Day with class 4

LSU entered the day with 20 signatories and two commits that have already won at Tigers’ 247Sports Composite Team Rankings generated by the industry. Ed Orgeron’s The 22-man class started Day 4, with a 0.17 lead over Clemson, and LSU ended there, second only to Alabama, Ohio State and Georgia in order.

LSU ended the day with 291.37 points, 3.18 points behind Kirby Smart’s 20-man group, but could still surpass the Bulldogs if the country’s biggest receiver was number 13 Brian Thomas Jr. signed with the Tigers on Texas A&M and Alabama. His father told Geaux247 that he would not sign on Wednesday and hoped he would do so soon.

A Thomas NLI would raise the total LSU score to 295.61, which would be the third highest point total using Composite as a reference in the program’s history during the modern era. Even without Thomas, the class generated the fifth best score behind the classes 2014 (299.29), 2020 (298.62), 2016 (295.03) and 2009 (293.15).

This marks Ed Orgeron’s third consecutive top 5 class, with his 2022 collection already ranked 4th.
