Loves Furniture officially seeks Chapter 11 bankruptcy

WARREN, Mich. – Loves Furniture, the company that took over many closed stores from Art Van Furniture, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The bankruptcy of Loves Furniture was filed in the US Bankruptcy Court on Wednesday. Art Van Furniture filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March last year.

In May last year, it was announced that Loves Furniture would reopen 27 closed Art Van locations in six states – including 17 locations in Michigan.

Before filing for bankruptcy, Loves Furniture announced that some locations would be closed. Customers reported long delays in deliveries.

The filing document indicates that Loves Furniture has between 100-199 creditors and between $ 10 million and $ 50 million in liabilities.
