Louisville was feeling generous the day after Christmas. This is the time to give.

After two minutes of the second half, Kentucky was throwing hot potatoes close to the edge. Kentucky failed to finish, but David Johnson of Louisville was there to clean up the mess. The gaffe in the own goal gave the United Kingdom the lead.

Johnson’s two points for the UK were more than Terrence Clarke and Olivier Sarr scored in 40 minutes of basketball. Clarke at least had an excuse, playing just 16 minutes after aggravating an ankle that was rolled against North Carolina. Sarr just didn’t bring it. It is the second consecutive game in which the Frenchman cannot score a goal. John Calipari believes that Sarr’s struggles are a minor setback.

“He missed a few shots. He lost a few easy ones, ”said Calipari. “When you start making mistakes, you start playing with your confidence. But it’s not like we’re not trying to go to him, we are. He’ll be fine. This has been difficult. Missing some pictures, I’m going to have to go with him before he gets on the bus and just say I love you, man. Are you alright.”
