Louise Linton, wife of Steven Mnuchin, is a cannibalistic killer in a trailer for her exaggerated new movie

The trailer for Louise Linton’s new film, “Me You Madness”, was released on Thursday, and well, it’s a lot.

I’m here to offer a description of a film that, while real, looks more like an insane game of “Mad Libs” adjacent to the GOP. “Me You Madness” stars Linton, wife of former Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, as a sociopathic bisexual woman who, according to IMDB, “hunts and kills men with crossbows, martini glasses and kitchen knives to eat them. . “

Catherine Black (Linton) is a 1980s Malibu hedge fund manager who is addicted to fashion, money and sex. “You may think that I am a materialistic, narcissistic and self-centered misanthrope,” Black muses in a narration in the trailer below. “I don’t deny it.”

His life is an endless parade of stacks of money, spinning lessons and metallic boots – until Tyler, played by the infamous “Gossip Girl” star Ed Westwick, responds to his roommate announcement. Tyler, a petty criminal, thinks he won gold when he rolls over to his seaside mansion; Catherine thinks she has found her next meal. It is a love story for modern times (made even stranger by the recent claims that actor Armie Hammer supposedly identifies as “100% a cannibal”).

Linton is not primarily known as an actress, although she has played a number of small roles in low-budget horror films and on shows like “CSI: NY”; she, however, wrote, directed and funded “Me You Madness” through her producer Stormchaser Films.

Instead, she reached a certain level of infamy in 2017, when she took an Instagram photo of her and Mnuchin disembarking from a military jet after a trip to Fort Knox. She added hashtags that pointed to her designer clothes #rolandmouret, #hermesscarf, #tomford and #valentino. A woman replied with the comment, “I’m glad we were able to pay for your little escape. # Deplorable,” which infuriated Linton.

“Aw !!! Did you think this was a personal trip?! Lovely!” Linton replied. “Do you think the US government paid for our honeymoon or personal trip ?! Lololol. Did you give more to the economy than my husband and I? Or as an individual taxpayer OR as self-sacrifice for your country? “

Three months later, Linton accompanied her husband to the Bureau of Printmaking and Printing in Washington. Someone took a picture of her holding a sheet of freshly printed dollar bills, while wearing black leather gloves up to her elbows. The image went viral – as did frequent comparisons with Cruella de Vil – and cemented her status as a real-life cartoon villain.

With that in mind, perhaps Linton’s lines in the trailer that detail his obsession with “the accumulation of money” are a self-conscious nod to the public’s perception of her? Possibly. In interviews, Linton expressed that the film is an attempt to subvert the femme fatale stereotype, with a little “American Psycho” added for good measure.

But, according to the New York Times, the strangest parts of the camp are not revealed in the trailer.

“In a sequence that looks like an MTV video, Catherine strokes frozen and severed parts of male bodies while dancing ‘Let’s Listen to the Boy’ in stiletto boots.” writes Brooke Barnes. “There’s an orgy by the pool powered by drugs. Please, please, stay close by for the nunchaku spinning wildly, the mesh and the choreographed conga ‘tomayto-tomahto’.”

“Me You Madness” opens on demand on Friday, February 12th.
