Oscar winner Louis Gossett Jr. reportedly left a hospital in Georgia on Tuesday “out of fear”, despite being so sick with COVID-19 that he “couldn’t even stand up”.
The hospital staff ‘begged’ the 84-year-old actor to stay there, but after a few days he was ‘scared of the death tide’ in his ward, according to TMZ.
‘Please wear masks, social distance, isolate, pray and listen within yourself. We cannot survive without each other, ‘Louis told the outlet.

The Brooklyn-born star has two children – Satie, 46; and Sharron, 43 – from his marriages to ex-wife No. 2 Christina Mangosing and ex-wife No. 3 Cyndi James Gossett.
Louis successfully fought prostate cancer in 2010 because he caught it in the early stages.
The coronavirus pandemic is increasing across the country, with 633,000 confirmed cases reported in Georgia (19.9 million in the U.S.), leading to 10,503 deaths on Thursday.

Gossett Jr. won the famous Oscar for best supporting actor for his portrayal of Sergeant Emil Foley in An Officer and Gentleman alongside Richard Gere in 1982.
The Broadway actor is also known for his Emmy-winning performance as Fiddler in the ABC television miniseries, Roots, in 1977.
Louis also won a Golden Globe for supporting actor for his role as Army officer Sidney Williams in the HBO biopic The Josephine Baker Story in 1991.
This year, Gossett Jr. received another Emmy nomination for his role as Will Reeves / Hooded Justice in HBO’s nine-episode limited series Watchmen opposite Regina King.
