Lost order developer is creating a new franchise

Apex Legends, Fall of the Titanand Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Developer Respawn Entertainment has been extremely busy in recent years and some new information has emerged that indicates the studio will not slow down anytime soon. Respawn has not only been working hard on all of the aforementioned titles, but is apparently starting to form a team to develop an entirely new IP.

Seen on a new list of Respawn jobs, the studio is actively looking to hire for the position of General Software Engineer. While this is not usually worth noting, the position is said to be specifically for a new team that is being established internally to work on a new property. Respawn obviously does not suggest what this new IP might look like, but notes that this team is currently very small and is still in the “incubation” stage.

This last point is quite interesting, as it can indicate what type of project Respawn could be working on. If this team intends to be small throughout the development of this title, this could perhaps be a game with a more detailed scale compared to what we are used to in the studio. Then again, this development team could easily grow a lot in the future, once the idea for this new franchise was properly developed.

It is important to note that if Respawn is looking for a team for a new project, it could mean bad news for those who are still waiting for a third party Fall of the Titan input. Like Apex Legends developers continue to work on the multiplayer title and the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order team certainly starting to work hard in a row, it’s hard to see where a third Fall of the Titan game fits, especially if this new group is creating something entirely new.

One thing is certain with this move – Respawn is growing to a very large degree. The studio has not only juggled all the games mentioned above, but has also just released a new Medal of Honor titled game Above and beyond earlier this month. In short, Respawn is becoming one of Electronic Arts’ biggest studios.

Given how early in development this job description makes the project mysterious, there’s a good chance that we won’t hear about this title publicly for some time. Whenever this happens, we will obviously keep you posted here on ComicBook.com.

So, what do you expect to see Respawn do next with this mysterious IP? And do you think the chances of Titanfall 3 arriving now are they even thinner? Let me know in the comments or contact me on Twitter at @ MooreMan12 to talk more.
