Lost invaders of the WiiWare title space take revenge and may change if there is enough demand

Do we like Space Invaders take revenge when it launched in 2008 for WiiWare, giving it 8/10 stars. One of Space invaders’ more curious developments, offered a role reversal that saw us playing the invaders, destroying cities with a UFO. Unfortunately, there is currently no official method of playing it since the Wii Shop Channel closed, making it one of many digital-only games lost forever.

Talking to Wccftech about Space Invaders Forever, Taito’s game director, Yuichi Toyama, was asked about a possible relaunch, replying:

Space Invaders Get Even was an exclusive WiiWare title in which the player played the role of the much-maligned Invaders and took revenge on humanity. This is another game that we consider and if there is enough demand, we would love to release it. The biggest problem with Get Even is the control method: the game was designed to be played on the Wii Remote, so we need to find a solution to offer a pleasant gaming experience. What do you think is the best way to do this? We may be able to replicate the controls by making good use of the Nintendo Switch’s touch screen functionality.

Speaking more about the subject, Toyama also discusses a hypothetical idea that could revise the Get Even formula. Suggesting a game in which “55 players get together in formation” to invade Earth, it seems like an equivalent to Battle Royale, although he also clarified that there are no real plans to launch such a game.

Whereas Joy-Cons can be used similarly to Wii Remotes – as proven Super Mario Galaxy inside of 3D All-Stars – it doesn’t look like it would be hard to overcome It’s nice to know that Get Even hasn’t been overlooked, but as an obscure WiiWare game, meeting that demand is another story.
