Lord of the Rings: Gollum postponed until 2022

Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which will allow you to play the story of Middle Earth’s most unfortunate hobbit, has been delayed until 2022. As part of the delay announcement, developer Daedalic Entertainment also announced that it is partnering with Nacon to publish the game.

“The two companies have decided to join forces to ensure that the game will meet the expectations of The Lord of the Rings fans and fully leverage the power of the new generation of consoles,” the companies said in a joint press release. “The universe will be faithfully represented thanks to the partnership with Middle-earth Enterprises, the company that holds the rights to adapt the JRR Tolkien series.”

Inside The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, players will take control of Gollum while he looks for a ring. As in the movies and books, Gollum’s quest will involve many climbs and sneaking around as he ventures through some of the most dangerous parts of Middle-earth. Players will have a chance to explore Sméagol’s gentler side, as well as the more severe and obsessive Gollum, and they will still be able to push the hobbit to one side or the other.

Lord of the Rings: Gollum will arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Windows whenever it is ready to launch in 2022.
