Although the teaser does not reveal a release date for the new single or tip about the track’s sound, “New Moon” will serve as a continuation of the group’s second release in 2020, the electropop-powered mini-album [12:00], which featured the singles “Why Not” and “Star”.
More importantly, the teaser also marks the return of HaSeul, who makes a brief appearance in the final moments of the video, looking in profile while the screen flashes with a flashing green light. (The band’s de facto leader was notably absent from the previous two cycles of the album, citing the need to focus on her health while the rest of the girls recorded and promoted [12:00] as well as the EP that preceded it, 2020’s [Hash].)
