After abandoning the next generation Pro X Wireless headset last year, Logitech is shifting gears with its first wired in-ear monitors (IEMs) for gaming. The G333 costs $ 50, comes in three colors and is geared towards players looking for a more compact (and potentially more comfortable) fit compared to headphones. Opting for wired headsets is certainly a left-wing move that is out of step with the rest of the market, which is home to many wireless options below $ 100. But, perhaps, that is the point.
If they look familiar, it’s because they were technically announced in October as part of Logitech’s K / DA suite of products. They appear to be an updated version of Logitech’s Oculus 2 headphones released in September. There are some notable changes this time around, including a microphone – which contains the main buttons you would expect to play, pause and control the volume of your chats and a longer cable. Logitech says it does not degrade audio quality thanks to its dual audio drivers, one for treble and midrange and one for bass. Considering that they are at the bottom end of the IEM price spectrum, we will have to see how good they sound.
The G333 comes with a 3.5 mm connector and a USB-C adapter, so you can connect them to almost any gaming platform, from Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo to PC and cell phones – and even Google Stadia. In addition, the vibrant colors (silver / light purple, black / light blue, purple / yellow) add a touch of variety. You can purchase the headphones today online through Logitech and a lot of retailers.
