A year after the COVID-19 pandemic put a brake on the annual event, local artists and companies will once again exhibit their products during the Vista Vista, which will be held from April 16 to 18.

Artist Vista will present online and in-person events at Congaree Vista, including an art gallery crawl, presentations from the South Carolina Philharmonic, Columbia City Ballet and ColaJazz, and an online paper lantern workshop.

“Creativity drives Vista, and in the past year, our business owners have used that creativity to overcome the challenges presented by COVID-19,” said Abby Anderson, executive director of Congaree Vista Guild, in a press release. “We are excited to offer a new version of Artist Vista that celebrates our artistic roots while protecting the health and safety of the community.”

Social distancing and wearing a mask will be required at all face-to-face events.

Events include:

  • Local artist Flavia Lovatelli will conduct an online flashlight creation workshop on videos offered on the Vista YouTube channel in early April.
  • An art gallery crawl will take place on April 16, from 5 pm to 9 pm, through the Vista galleries and online on your YouTube channel.
  • An art day will be held on April 17, from 10 am to 3 pm, on the Stormwater Studios campus, with live demonstrations and music.
  • The Crafty Feast handicraft festival, with works from suppliers selected by the jury, will take place on April 18, from 11 am to 3 pm.
  • The end of the Live on Lincoln event will feature local performing arts groups and dinner at The Blue Marlin on April 18 from 5 pm to 7 pm. The proceeds from the ticket event, presented by the Koger Center, will support participating organizations, which also include the Trustus Theater at the University of South Carolina concert choir
