A day earlier, President Biden said in an interview with CBS that he thinks “there is no need for him to have intelligence briefings”.

“What impact does it have, other than the fact that he can slip and say something?” Biden told interviewer Norah O’Donnell.

Although Biden has the authority to make the decision on his own, he will leave it to the intelligence community, his advisers said, according to The Washington Post.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement: “The president expressed his concern that former President Trump has access to confidential information, but he also deeply trusts his own intelligence team to take a decision on how to provide intelligence information if, at any time, former President Trump requests an instruction, “according to the Post.

More portions of Biden’s interview on CBS were scheduled to air on Sunday on “Face the Nation” and later during coverage of the Super Bowl LV network.
