A major winter storm continues to hit the Northeast on Tuesday morning, blocking traffic with heavy snow and strong winds.
A “wide strip” of moderate to heavy snow is expected to continue overnight and overnight, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

On Monday, the storm was expected to drop up to 60 centimeters of snow in an area that stretches from Pennsylvania to New England, affecting cities like Philadelphia, New York and Boston.
More than 20 centimeters are expected to fall in certain areas in the next few hours, says the NWS.
“Snowfall rates as high as 2-3” per hour are occurring in the most intense ranges, “according to the NWS on Monday night.
